From the 189 Bus to Koh Samui
Some love stories begin with a grand introduction. Adelaide and Chris’s began on the 189 bus in London.
It was late, Chris was heading home from work, and Adelaide was returning from a night out with friends. From the back of the bus, Adelaide noticed Chris looking her way. Then, in a moment that could only belong to her, she shouted across the bus and asked him a question about his preferred style of waxing. Chris answered. Adelaide got off the bus. Chris asked for her number. And somehow, that was the beginning of more than ten years together.
Their first date was at a rave the following weekend, and they have been almost inseparable ever since. Today, they describe their relationship in three words: fun, adventurous and glamorous. It is easy to see why.

A Private Escape in Koh Samui
With Adelaide from California, Chris from Sydney, and both now living in London, a destination wedding was always part of the plan. They chose Thailand for everything they love about it: the food, culture, sunshine and, of course, the views. More than anything, they wanted their wedding to feel like a holiday for everyone they loved.
Panacea Retreat in Koh Samui was the perfect setting. Tucked away in a private and secluded corner of the island, the villa gave the entire celebration an intimate sense of escape, surrounded by tropical greenery and endless views.
And then there were Adelaide and Chris themselves. Both looked as though they had stepped straight out of the pages of a fashion magazine. Their request was clear from the beginning: they wanted the photographs to feel editorial and timeless, with enough direction to create those effortlessly polished frames they had imagined.

When the Camera Loves You Back
There are couples who need a little time to settle in front of the camera, and then there are Adelaide and Chris.
With their natural chemistry, strong sense of style and Adelaide’s effortless confidence, directing them became less about creating a pose and more about finding the moments in between. We moved them through the villa, around the tropical landscape and into the spaces where the light was doing something particularly beautiful.
Chris may have warned us that he wasn't very photogenic and could look a little serious in photographs. We’ll let the gallery make the argument for us.

The Sunset We’ll Remember
But the moment that stayed with us most was their sunset portrait session.
As the light began to soften over Koh Samui, everything came together: the private setting, the warm evening sky, the movement of the sea and the two of them completely lost in the moment. There was something almost cinematic about it, the kind of scene that feels less like a wedding photograph and more like a still from a beautifully styled film.
It was one of those rare stretches of time when we could simply keep photographing and let the light do the work.

A Wedding Designed to Feel Like a Holiday
For Adelaide and Chris, the photographs were important, but so was everything happening around them. They wanted their closest family and friends to have fun, eat well, dance, drink cocktails and ultimately leave Thailand feeling completely wowed.
That sense of celebration was at the heart of the day. It wasn't simply a wedding in a beautiful destination. It was a gathering designed around the people they love, in a place that already felt like an escape.
And perhaps that is the most fitting way to describe Adelaide and Chris. Their story started on an ordinary London bus, with a completely unexpected conversation, and somehow led them here: dressed to perfection, surrounded by the people they love, watching the sun disappear over Koh Samui.
A rather beautiful journey for two people who have always known how to have fun.
